     Words We'll Use 

    • Analysis: Identifying and examining separate parts as they function independently and together in creative works and study of visual arts.

    • Background: The area that appears to be farthest away or behind the other objects.

    • Composition: Organization of elements in space.

    • Foreground: The area that appears to be nearest and in front of the other objects.

    • Frisket: A rubbery liguid or a sticky film that an artist uses to keep paint off of certain areas in the artwork.

    • Geometric: Shapes that are made using specific mathematical formulas and are named such as circle, hexagon, etc.

    • Keyframe: A single frame (moment in time in an animation) that is the start or end of a tweened animation.

    • Middle Ground: The area that appears between the foreground and background.

    • Proportion: The relationship between the sizes of elements in an artwork. Used to enlarge or reduce a drawing accurately.

    • Sculpture: Carved, cut, hewn, cast, molded, welded or assembled into three dimensional representations, forms, or figures.

    • Storyboarding: Drawing out a cartoon-like plan for an animation or video, showing details of what happens happens over time.

    • Timeline: In Flash and other animation software, the tool you use to keep track of each frame of artwork as the artwork changes over time.
